Driver

General Description:

Job mainly entails driving a company-owned/supplied van to pick up and deliver parts to customer facilities. Due to the nature of the job, it is critical that candidate is personable and capable of maximizing the customer experience/interaction. Drivers are key to the company in building and maintaining a rapport with customer and specific shop contacts.

Additionally, physical demands of course apply to this job. Drivers will be in and out of their vehicles for anywhere between 8 and 12 hours per day. Job requires drivers to lift, carry, and transport boxes/containers of steel parts into and out of customer facilities. Winston provides a dolly to aid in transporting of these containers.

Candidates must also be familiar and capable with technology. Drivers are equipped with smart phones and tablets for navigation, communication with dispatch, tracking of tasks, and obtaining proof of delivery. Responsibilities:

  • Following driver policy/agreement for safe operating of company vehicles

Furnace Operator

General Description:

Job mainly entails the various duties required in operating the various furnaces throughout the facility. This includes racking loads in preparation for their processing, performing necessary maintenance/visual checks upon loading a furnace, programming the furnace per the job/company/customer/industry requirements, following the required SOP and other quality guidelines, monitoring the furnace run through the company’s charting software, unloading and separating parts as the runs are completed, verifying the accuracy of the count of parts throughout processing, documenting their results on the company router per requirements, tracking those results through the ERP software, and properly handling the parts at all times.

Candidate must be very competent with time management skills and the ability to multitask. Will need to learn and understand a variety of QC/industry guidelines/requirements. Must be able to read and understand blueprints with training. Due to the nature of our business, the industries we serve, and the parts we process, integrity and accountability are paramount. 

Candidate will be on their feet for the entirety of the shift. Ability to lift heavy parts, up to 50 pounds or more, required.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing job router and customer purchase order to ensure accuracy of work
  • Visual inspection of both the parts you are processing as well as the equipment you are using
  • Racking and preparing loads to be processed as well as breaking down existing ones as they are completed
  • Monitoring and charting the furnace processes to ensure conformity to company/customer/industry requirements
  • Documenting all process steps as required by the job
  • Visual inspection of parts and proper handling of the parts and equipment at all times
  • Complying with company/regulatory requirements regarding CUI (controlled unclassified information)
  • Coordinating work duties with other team members and managers

General Labor/Bead Blast

General Description: 

Job mainly entails operating bead blast cabinets to clean up parts that are discolored through processing. Candidate will be on their feet for the entirety of the shift while reaching and working within the cabinets. Ability to lift heavy parts, up to 50 pounds or more, required. If assistance is required from other works or heavy lift magnets, those are available. Employee would also need to wrap parts for special handling, cleanup work area, etc.

Candidate should be capable of working quickly on their feet. Multitasking is important as one operator may be loading and monitoring two machines while potentially manually operating a third. Other skills/abilities required: mechanically inclined and capable of programming/troubleshooting equipment with training, attention to detail in visually inspecting parts for damage/nicks as well as thoroughly reviewing job routers for QC checks, understanding of computers/technology to scan and track job routers through company ERP software.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading table blast and tumble blast machines
  • Programming and troubleshooting table blast and tumble blast machines
  • Manually operating air blast cabinet
  • Refilling and emptying media from all three pieces of equipment at least once per shift
  • Minor maintenance tasks related to equipment – replacing gloves, glass, other items as required
  • Sweeping and cleaning up work area at least at end of each shift
  • Performing QC checks reviewing job router for any mistakes and verifying completion of all prior steps
  • Completing QC records for completion of job duties and tracking router through system
  • Wrapping and preparing parts/jobs for final shipment
  • Complying with company/regulatory requirements regarding CUI (controlled unclassified information)

Maintenance Technician

General Description:

Job mainly entails performing various day-to-day maintenance duties. This includes performing regular daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and so forth maintenance checks on different pieces of equipment, performing preventive maintenance as prescribed, responding accordingly to demand maintenance needs, follow all company/regulatory safety requirements while completing maintenance tasks, answer off-hour callouts as required by the job, and perform record-keeping duties regarding maintenance tasks per company/QC guidelines and requirements.

Candidate must be mechanically inclined and capable of critical thinking. Should either have years of experience in some form of industrial maintenance or otherwise direct experience working with heat treating equipment. Will need to learn and understand blueprints, specifically related to company equipment. Due to the nature of our business, the industries we serve, and the parts we process, integrity and accountability are paramount. 

Candidate will be on their feet for the entirety of the shift. Ability to lift heavy parts, up to 50 pounds or more, required. Must be capable of working within confined spaces as maintenance duties require.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing regularly scheduled intervals of maintenance checks on various pieces of equipment
  • Perform prescribed preventive maintenance duties
  • Respond promptly to demand maintenance needs
  • Record and document the completion of necessary maintenance tasks per QC/company requirements
  • Communicate and work well with other affected departments, namely QC and production
  • Respond to off-hour callouts as required

Order Entry/Data Entry

General Description:

Order entry position mainly involves candidate using computer and company ERP software to take information from customer purchase orders to generate in-house job travelers. As part of the team in receiving, this position requires QC checks in verifying accuracy of customer paperwork/requirements as well as inspecting parts for any damage prior to our processing of the parts.

Candidate must be capable of critical thinking. Will need to learn and understand a variety of purchase order templates as well as blueprint reading. Must be capable of identifying pertinent information from these documents to transpose into our software. Attention to detail and thoroughness is paramount to this position. Due to the nature of our business, the industries we serve, and the parts we process, integrity and accountability are paramount. 

Other duties for this position include customer service, whether face to face or over the phone. Candidate must be customer focused and oriented. With proper training, should be capable of relaying important information like lead times while being personable and providing a positive experience to the customer.

Candidate will be on their feet for the entirety of the shift while also lifting parts, potentially 50 pounds or more, to weigh on scales and take photos. Assistance available as needed, workers not expected to strain themselves beyond ability to lift parts. 

Responsibilities:

  • Performing various receiving duties: verifying count of parts, inspecting parts for any damage, reviewing customer paperwork and job requirements
  • Weighing and photographing parts as required for the job
  • Transposing customer data from PO/blueprint to company ERP software to generate job routers
  • Reviewing completed routers for mistakes prior to release onto job floor
  • Complying with company/regulatory requirements regarding CUI (controlled unclassified information)
  • Fielding customer phone calls to direct accordingly or otherwise provide pertinent answers to questions
  • Perform customer service interactions face-to-face as well
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area

Quality Control Inspector

General Description:

Job mainly entails performing various quality control functions. This includes reviewing company job router and customer purchase order to ensure the accuracy of all information and that the order has been processed correctly, reviewing all prior steps on job router to verify completion of all necessary steps, confirm the accuracy of the count of parts for the order, visually inspect the parts for any potential damage or cracking from processing, hardness testing the parts per the company/customer/industry sampling requirements, documenting their results on the company router per requirements, tracking those results through the ERP software, and packaging the parts properly either for the next step in processing or for final inspection and shipping.

Candidate must be capable of critical thinking. Will need to learn and understand a variety of purchase order templates as well as blueprint reading. Must be capable of identifying pertinent information from these documents. Due to the nature of our business, the industries we serve, and the parts we process, integrity and accountability are paramount. 

Candidate will be on their feet for the entirety of the shift. Ability to lift heavy parts, up to 50 pounds or more, required.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing job router and customer purchase order
  • Reviewing internal processing to ensure compliance to job requirements
  • Operating the hardness testing equipment with responsibleness and care to check the parts and protect the equipment from damage
  • Ensuring compliance of their own QC work to internal company (QCOP 107, etc.) industry (ASTM E-18) requirements
  • Proper handling and packaging of parts
  • Visual inspection of parts
  • Complying with company/regulatory requirements regarding CUI (controlled unclassified information)

Straightener/Induction Operator

General Description:

Job mainly entails performing straightening and induction duties. For straightening, this includes using different means to straighten distorted/bowed parts from heat treatment, either using a hydraulic press, acetylene torch, fixture plates, or lead hammer. Other job duties would be using company provided tools to verify the straightness of the parts and their conformity to customer/company requirements. Candidate would also be responsible for documentation of these results on the job router and tracking of these results through the company ERP software. Induction would involve either developing specific coils or using already pre-made ones per repeat/historical jobs to process parts to customer and company requirements. Operator must follow prescribed SOPs and recipes for each job. They then must also document their results on the job router and track it accordingly on the ERP software.

Candidate must be capable of critical thinking. Will need to learn and understand a variety of purchase order templates as well as blueprint reading. Must be capable of identifying pertinent information from these documents to understand how to process the parts at either induction or straightening. Due to the nature of our business, the industries we serve, and the parts we process, integrity and accountability are paramount. 

Candidate will be on their feet for the entirety of the shift. Ability to lift heavy parts, up to 50 pounds or more, required.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing job router and customer purchase order
  • Carefully handling parts to prevent damage
  • Processing of parts per customer/company/industry guidelines and requirements
  • Verifying the conformance of the parts using company provided equipment
